DID YOU KNOW THERE WAS A SECOND STEPHEN F. AUSTIN COLONY?

We have all heard about Austin's fist colony, San Felipe and the "old 300" colonists who came to Texas.  No one that I know of has ever heard about a second colony.  History professor's I've talked to said there were several colonies proposed but they did not know of any of them coming about.  There is nothing in the history books about them.  Kameron K. Searle kept seeing references to the "Lake Creek Settlement" in documents he was exploring and he could not find any acknowledgement of the colony.  He started compiling the records and researching the early Spanish records as well.  He has now written a book about the Lake Creek Settlement that eventually became the City of Montgomery, Texas.  He includes original documents with the names of the original colonists of the settlement, how they obtained their property and what they did with it.  This is a fascinating story of history forgotten.  He will be our guest speaker on August 22, 2015.  Come here and see the rebirth of history.  You can also go to his websites and explore further.
